Journey Of Amato

Journey Of Amato
The Journey of Amato began in 2013, at a time when I had just graduated with a degree in Aerospace Engineering and was uncertain about my future. Personal circumstances kept me at home, but I always had a passion for cooking and baking. This passion led me to start a small blog on Facebook, where I shared our family recipes. How did we grow the past 10 years?

Lactation Granola

Lactation Granola

If you’re a new breastfeeding mom, you recognize the importance of keeping that liquid gold flowing. For as long as women are birthing babies they’ve also been trying to seek out ways to stay their milk supply high. You’re already under such a lot of pressure as a mom, the last item you would feel is that you’re not producing an adequate amount of milk.
That’s where foods like lactation granola come into play. It might seem absurd to think that food can increase or decrease the quantity of milk that you simply produce, but women are using foods and supplies to extend milk supply for ages. Issues with breastfeeding are completely normal. Sometimes your baby isn't great at latching on or your milk doesn't want to come in. No matter what, you need to know that you're not alone. This is normal and Your body is doing its best.

What’s in Lactation Granola?
The main ingredient in just about any lactation food is oatmeal. Other ingredients you might find are flax meal, coconut oil/ butter and yummy additions like chocolate chips, raisins, and cinnamon.

These seem like normal ingredients, right? What makes them so special is that they can help increase breastmilk. Breastmilk is supported by prolactin. Prolactin hormone is triggered by a component called beta-glucan which is primarily present in Oats.

Oats
Oats are the first basic ingredient in most lactation supplies. And while oats make a healthy, delicious snack for anyone, they’re especially important for breastfeeding moms who want to extend their milk supply.
This is because oats have a special component called saponins. Saponin works to assist the body to create more prolactin, which is the breastmilk hormone. Lowered iron levels like anemic also result in less breastmilk, and Oats also play a major role there. They are rich in iron, manganese, and phosphorous which makes them the perfect meal/snack.

Flaxseeds
Flaxseed is a seed from a flax plant that we used to use to create linen and textiles, as it was stronger than cotton. Nowadays, we recognize it for what is a nutrient-rich superfood. It has omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. These fats lower your triglyceride levels and also helps with depression. They’re essential for developing babies, as well.
While the oatmeal in lactation granola bars is great for increasing milk supply, flaxseed helps to ensure that the quality of the milk your baby gets is the best.

Almonds
Almonds are one of the best key ingredients in the path of breastfeeding moms. They're packed with vitamins and nutrients so they pack your breastmilk full of good stuff for the baby.
But they're also good for helping you fight off exhaustion. Almonds work to provide you with an all-natural energy boost throughout the day.

Aloe Gel - Queen of Skin care

Aloe Gel - Queen of Skin care

Hello peeps!
As you all know, cold pressed aloe vera gel is one of our new launches and we got a lot of questions around how to make the best use of it. So we have curated a list of tips, tricks and DIYs using aloe vera gel, most from our personal experiences :)
So why is aloe vera considered a go-to product in skin care? Aloe vera is a succulent, short stemmed plant that stores water in its leaves. The leaves produce the gel, which is more or less water with several other nutrients like vitamins, minerals, amino acids and antioxidants.

Aloe for Skin:
Let's first talk about what amazing benefits it has on our skin. The anti-inflammatory properties of aloe vera helps to treat sun burns, acne and the antioxidants speeds skin healing and prevents premature aging. Due to its high water content, it can instantly hydrate your skin without leaving it greasy.
⦁ As a makeup primer:
Our aloe vera gel can be used as an affordable primer in your daily make-up routine, especially with BB or CC creams. Spread a small amount of the gel before applying your makeup base and you are good to go for the day. This is a tip that we have personally tried and tested :)

Facepacks
Adding aloe gel to facepacks helps to boost their results by repairing your damaged skin and helping in removing tan. It also helps to cool and calm your skin which is very much necessary in a tropical country like ours. We recommend to try our skin brightening pack and rose & oats face pack with aloe vera gel and watch your skin glow! (links are placed below the post).
 To exfoliate skin:
Did you know that aloe vera has exfoliation and skin regeneration properties? This makes it an excellent addition to your face and body scrubs as it provides the necessary amount of hydration too. We recommend to mix a small amount of aloe vera gel while using our organic scrubs to get a soft and smooth skin!
⦁ As a pore shrinker:
Now this is a DIY totally from our personal experience. Freeze a small amount of our cold pressed gel in an ice cube tray. Take the aloe cube and rub it on your skin in slow, circular motions. This helps to reduce visible pores, soothes skin and preps it for an even make-up application. However, for severe cases of pores and acne, we recommend to use out anti-acne serum.
Aloe for Hair:
Yes, its true! Aloe has endless benefits to offer your hair as well :) It helps maintain the ph level of your scalp thus resulting in less hair fall and dandruff control. It also acts as a great conditioner and leaves your hair all smooth and shiny.

⦁ Frizz control:
Take equal parts of our aloe vera gel and water in a spritz bottle. Mix well to allow both the components to blend completely. Spray this on your hair lengths in small amounts and run your fingers through. This helps to revive your dry frizzy hair making it smooth and managable with any heat treatment :)
⦁ As a leave in conditioner:
Our aloe gel can also be used as a leave in conditioner. Spread a small amount of the gel on your hair, post hair wash. This protects your hair from heat damage if you are somepne who styles your hair often.
The best part of aloe vera gel is that it's suitable for all skin types and treats almost all your skin and hair woes. Grab yours today by clicking on the link below :)

Why No Certification?

Why No Certification?

Dear Amatoites, One question……..& one question is all that we ask. Do you believe in the A4 size Certificate from your College/University or the Talent & Skill that you possess? A paper can’t decide what you are, right? Similarly, we don’t let a mere paper decide our quality. You stand as testimony yourself and our fellow Amatoite’s reviews are more worthy & valuable than any Certifying organization as you have experienced our products first hand.

We, at Amato source 80% of our raw materials from our own farms. All yields from our farm are Organically grown with natural nourishments. Coconut oil, Aloe Vera gel, Turmeric, Lemon, Neem, Basil, Goose berry, Hibiscus & Curry Leaves, etc. are some of the products we grow for our customers in our land in the natural way. Our Family was put to test every product before being introduced in the market. Will someone let one’s family suffer from harsh chemicals or inferior products? Every customer at Amato is an extended family member.

If you ask whether our farm produce are organic, we would say YES! But if you ask us to prove them through a certified agency we would say it wouldn’t be ethically right. Having a diverse Flora in a country like India, it is highly impossible to identify if a crop is Hybrid or Genetically Modified or a Natural breed. Though we practice Organic Farming there are still chances that the Cow dung has its own chemical components which comes in through its feed which is no longer organic. Although we try our best, it is highly impractical to control the entire food chain.

This is one of the main reasons we don’t want to lure our customers just by getting things printed on a piece of paper. We value your Trust more than anything else. And one other reason for not approaching for certification is that the added cost it brings with the process. For example, let’s imagine the cost of acquiring Certification is few lakhs. Where do you think these costs end up? A firm will eventually transfer this cost on the customer’s head. We don’t want to burden you with that extra cost for just a fancy Certificate.

Amato as always promises you the Best Quality at affordable prices. Never let a paper decide over your senses. Our products are Handcrafted to Pamper your Skin. Think twice……but Choose wise!

Why are Handmade soaps better than Commercial ones ?

Why are Handmade soaps better than Commercial ones ?
The existence of first soap like material has been proven in 4800-year-old archaeological digs of ancient Babylon. A Soap has is made out of two components mainly Fat ( Oils or animal fats ) and Lye ( Sodium Hydroxide).  In 3500-year-old Ancient Egypt,  soaps and aromatic oils were not only used for washing but also an as an important medical cure for many skin and muscle diseases.

What should a soap do? Soaps are designed to remove dirt, sweat sebum, dead cells and oils from the skin. What should a soap NOT do? Clog pores, dryness,  inflammatory acne or throw off the delicate pH balance your skin maintains.

Our skin needs to maintain 5.5 pH to function properly. The acid mantle, a thin, protective layer, is primarily composed of sebum, the skin’s naturally produced oil. To keep skin healthy, the acid mantle needs to be able to do its job and to do its job we need to avoid cleansers that could upset its pH balance. Excess sweat sebum should be removed but not the natural one that your skin produces as it is a natural moisturizer.

Have you ever wondered the ingredients of a Commercial soap? Well, we did once and in fact, that was the day when Amato's Skincare range idea popped up! Many brands claim to be Natural or Organic but the percentage of the ingredient that goes into the soap matters. Commercial soaps contain a whole range of ingredients from the science lab. They usually contain:

sodium cocoyl isethionate (synthetic detergent),stearic acid (hardener),
sodium tallowate (sodium salt of cow fat), water sodium isethionate (detergent/emulsifying agent) , coconut acid (the sodium salt of coconut oil) , sodium stearate  (emulsifier, also used as a cheap stabilizer in plastics) , sodium dodecylbenzonesulfonate  (synthetic detergent) , sodium cocoate or sodium palm kernalate (sodium salts of coconut or palm kernel oils), fragrance (synthetic scent) , sodium chloride (table salt) , titanium dioxide (whitener) , trisodium EDTA (stabilizer, used in industrial cleaning products to decrease hard water) , trisodium etidronate  (preservative, a chemical that is used in soaps to prevent soap scum), BHT (preservative)

Even a Baby soap can have any number of these ingredients. Palm oil is often listed as vegetable oil and is a primary ingredient in commercial soap because it is cheap and plentiful.

How about us? What are the ingredients Amato uses?
Our soap base is made out of coconut oil, vegetable glycerin & essential oils. They are gentler on skin, making it a good choice for people even with dry and sensitive skin. We have 9 types of soaps to suit each and every skin type. The ingredients are turmeric, vetiver, aloe vera, lemon peels & the main ingredient coconut oil is sourced from our farm which is grown organically.
I can hear you ! 'Your label says Lye , Well that is a chemical right ?'
True, all soaps have to use Lye only then you get the solid form a soap is meant to have. It helps in solidification but a soap batch is cooked in heat, where the lye evaporates during the curing process. So all you are left with is a Healthy Natural 75gms bar of soap to pamper yourself.
